Nursery Practitioners

All our practitioners at Bright Beginnings Nursery are selected for being highly motivated, friendly and enthusiastic, holding various qualifications relevant for childcare and development.

Our staff may hold the following qualifications B- TEC, N.N.E.B., NVQ level 3, Health and Safety, First Aid, Food hygiene, etc.  We have regular staff meetings to ensure the nursery practitioners are working as part of a team; this contributes to the child’s development and ensures the child’s needs are being met. The nursery practitioners are here to help your child to develop intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally and in all other areas.

KEY PERSON

A key person will be linked to a child in the nursery this is to ensure the child has a main nursery practitioner whom they can relate to whilst in the nursery environment.

The key person will monitor your child’s progression in nursery and ensure your child’s needs are being met during the day; and will be responsible for providing activities and supervising key children.

NEWS LETTERS

We give out parents’ News letters, usually every month, informing parents of various activities and events e.g. Sponsored Walks, Fancy dress days, Nursery Photographer, visitors to the Nursery and Outings.

We also welcome parents’ input and suggestions for the Nursery.

A Known adult must collect your child from nursery or we cannot allow your child to leave without your permission. Please ensure you inform staff if anyone unknown to us is collecting your child. We have a password system for this. Please sign your child in and out of Nursery with the time of arrival and departure.

VISITS

We have yearly educational outing for our three year olds and occasional walks and days out. Parents will be informed given prior notice in writing when these take place.

COMPLAINTS

Unfortunately, on occasions, problems do arise; please talk to the staff if you have any concerns. If you have a complaint which cannot be solved internally after due discussion, there is a formal complaints procedure.

UNIFORMS

We have Nursery uniforms available for children in a range of sizes that we recommend to parents. As best clothes worn in the Nursery, do not stay best for very long.

FOOTWEAR & CLOTHING

Please ensure that all children come to nursery with a suitable coat or over jumper as we do play outside in all weather conditions. Please provide a hat, scarf and gloves through the cold, winter months. Please provide a pair of wellies and a pair of slip on pumps to help your child to be independent and change their own footwear for outdoor play. Sensible shoes that are comfortable, such as slippers can be worn inside the nursery for extra comfort.  Please use clothing that is easy for the child to remove when going to the toilet and please provide a change of clothes for your child
